The A1 (Skyraider) ...
The A1 (Skyraider) had an 18 Ft diameter prop drive by a Curtis Wright 3350 engine producing 2800 horsepower. The B-36 had 6 Pratt and Whitney R-4360 engines producing 3,500 horsepower in pusher mounts. Those engines drove 19 foot propellers. I worked with A1Ds? in the mid 60's...those props were a nightmare to work around in a Carrier deck.
